Christians Should See the Good in Others

I often feel that, in Christianity, the sin and the negative aspects of humanity are often emphasized over the positive aspects of humanity. Yet the below verses reveal that God sees the good that can be found in creation - not excluding humans:

Genesis 1:27 & 31: "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them...God saw all that he had made, and it was very good."

John 1:47: "When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, 'Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.'”

In Luke, chapter 10, Jesus points out the good qualities in a person now famously known as "The Good Samaritan". Jesus emphasized that the Samaritan was correct in being a true neighbor (v. 36), an example of love (v. 27) and someone who shows mercy (v. 37).

Personally speaking, one person I find good qualities in is a friend named Tim Gomez. He’s a big African American guy who has a disability that has forced him to use a wheelchair probably for the rest of his life. I think partly because of his disability and partly because of his outlook on life he is able to empathize with people who are going through difficult times and almost always provide some sort of encouragement.

Who is a good quality that you have recently noticed in someone else?
